Percy Jackson arrives on Netflix while staying on Disney+

Both seasons of Percy Jackson & the Olympians are available on Netflix since October 4, while still remaining on Disney+. This availability is part of an unprecedented licensing deal between the two services, which provides for the temporary sharing of Disney+ content worldwide. According to Variety, Disney+ is handing over certain streaming rights to Netflix for a few weeks in order to monetize and promote its own catalog. The same deal enabled the arrival on Netflix of the five animated Ice Age films. This strategy shows that, despite the competition, platforms can cooperate to attract new subscribers.
