Virgin River season 8: 10 confirmed episodes, Netflix's longest series
Production has just halted, marking the start of a season that takes the series to the top of Netflix's English-language drama history.
After the season 7 cliffhanger, cameras officially stopped rolling on Virgin River. The eighth season, renewed as early as July 2025, will consist of ten new episodes, making it the longest English-language drama series on Netflix, surpassing Grace and Frankie and Orange Is the New Black. Despite a slight dip in viewership, season 7 kept the series in the top 10 for four weeks, tallying 175.6 million hours watched and 21.2 million complete views. Engagement reports show that from 2023 to mid-2026, all seasons combined have exceeded 2.07 billion hours, or more than a quarter of a billion views. Season 7's launch was slated for March 12 2026.
