A Mary Poppins series in the works, more faithful to the novels
A series adaptation, inspired by Pamela L. Travers' eight novels, would be developed.

According to Écran Large, the project, led by producer Tom Winchester - known for Shōgun - is at the development stage, after Winchester acquired the rights to the texts. The 1964 film, directed by Robert Stevenson and starring Julie Andrews, had been criticized by Travers for the nanny's sweetness, a tension that gave rise to the documentary film Dans l’ombre de Mary in 2013. This new version would aim to restore the harsher and more ambiguous tone of the original book.
