One Piece returns to Netflix in LEGO version

Netflix is streaming today a LEGO mini-series of One Piece, two episodes that retell the adventures of the first two seasons of the live-action show. While the animated series is on an indefinite pause and season 3 of the live-action version is still months away, fans get to see Jacob Romero Gibson back as Usopp and Mikaela Hoover as Chopper, the latter rendered with a touch of CGI. Usopp's tales, told aboard the Going Merry, are presented in colorful bricks, packed with nods: the sea monster Meuh Meuh on a milk brick, the many transformations of tyrant Wapol (Rob Colletti) and even a cameo by Pandaman. This approach, already used for Star Wars or The Lord of the Rings, keeps the franchise's wild spirit.
