Amazon MGM Studios' The Challenger adds six new cast members
The series The Challenger announces the addition of six new cast members, including William Fichtner and Kevin Carroll.
According to Screen Wide, the drama series The Challenger, developed by Amazon MGM Studios, emerges from a long gestation. The project, carried since 2017 by producers Kyra Sedgwick and Valerie Stadler via Big Swing, took nearly a decade to find its launch pad, before securing joint support from Amblin and Amazon MGM Studios. Presented as the adaptation of the book The New Guys: The Astronauts That Changed the Face of Space Travel by Meredith E. Bagby, the series sees Maggie Cohn, known for The Staircase and American Crime Story, serving as showrunner, while Kristen Stewart will portray pioneer Sally Ride.
Still according to Screen Wide, the production has just added six new faces, revealed exclusively by Deadline. Among them, William Fichtner will play Nobel physics laureate Richard Feynman, and Kevin Carroll will play his colleague, the professor. These recruitments strengthen the cast that promises to recount the history of the Challenger shuttle and the astronaut recruitment led by Sally Ride.
