Silent Hill Townfall, the new Scottish adventure by Screen Burn
According to Screen Wide, Silent Hill: Townfall takes players to St. Amelia in Scotland with a completely new storyline.
According to Screen Wide, Konami once again hands its licence to an external studio, Screen Burn, known for Stories Untold and Observation. The new title Silent Hill: Townfall is set in the small coastal town of St. Amelia in Scotland and offers an entirely new plot.
The saga is now intended to be anthological, exploring new regions, eras and characters, while varying gameplay to avoid routine, according to the same article. This freedom, however, raises concerns that the franchise could lose its identity, as happened when the series was moved to Japan and adopted a more nervous and brutal style, prompting protests like “This is not a Silent Hill game!”.
Silent Hill: Townfall, very different from its predecessors, could therefore spark similar reactions, but it also marks Konami's desire to explore new horizons since the franchise's revival, concludes Screen Wide.
