Robert Pattinson says his Batman wouldn't fit in James Gunn's DCU
The actor explains that his dark incarnation of Bruce Wayne would be hard to integrate into James Gunn's universe.
Robert Pattinson told LADbible that his incarnation of Bruce Wayne would have trouble fitting into James Gunn's cinematic universe. "It would be quite difficult to have this version of Bruce outside of that world," he explained, highlighting the very particular style of the film, where the mood and lighting remain dark for months of shooting.
He recalled that the shoot had plunged him "into the dark," affecting his mood and feeling. According to him, the character requires a unique atmosphere that does not easily lend itself to another tone.
The film The Batman by Matt Reeves, presented in 2022, already offered a darker version than previous ones, while Variety critics compared this approach to those of The Dark Knight, Ben Affleck and Christopher Nolan, noting that even those works had not surpassed the tone set by the latest installment.
