One Piece stops after 1180 episodes, the series moves to a seasonal format

After 1180 episodes, One Piece goes on pause. The animated series, aired every Sunday since 1999, aired its final episode on September 27, leaving a cliffhanger. This season, available on Crunchyroll and Netflix from April 5 - September 27, covered the first half of the Erbaf arc, where Luffy and his crew join the tribe of giants and meet Prince Loki. According to AlloCiné, Toei announced the end of the continuous broadcast last year to adopt a seasonal schedule, in order to improve production timelines and quality. Fans will therefore have to wait for the next season to see the continuation of the reunion with Brogy, Dorry and the other giants.
