Arte broadcasts the reworked version of The Godfather III
The film, renamed The Godfather, epilogue - the death of Michael Corleone, offers an unprecedented cut and a full restoration.
Arte broadcasts tonight the third installment of The Godfather trilogy, in its reworked version from 2019-2020. Titled Le Parrain, épilogue - la mort de Michael Corleone, the film benefits from a new edit, a new beginning, a new ending, as well as a rearrangement of scenes and a revisited musical accompaniment.
According to AlloCiné, Coppola spent six months selecting the negatives from no less than 300 cans, under the blessing of Paramount Pictures, to restore image and sound. After a very limited release in the United States in December 2020, the version is now available on VOD and on Blu-ray, including in France.
