Julianne Moore receives the Golden Icon Award in Zurich
Julianne Moore received the Golden Icon Award from the Zurich Film Festival, recalling her childhood in Europe.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, American actress Julianne Moore received the Golden Icon Award on Friday evening, a tribute prize from the Zurich Film Festival, speaking flawless German. In her speech she recalled that her path was linked to her childhood spent in Europe, noting that a German teacher had predicted a career as an actress. She added that without the move with her parents she would not have had this "wonderful life" and would not be here tonight. Director of Wild Horse Nine, Martin McDonagh, was also honored at the same ceremony.
Jesse Eisenberg, who directs Moore in her new film The Debut, was present. The musical comedy, co-starring Paul Giamatti, is being screened this week during the 22nd edition of the festival in Switzerland.
