Mike P. Nelson Takes the Helm of the Next Saw
Mike P. Nelson directs the eleventh Saw, after the rights were bought by Blumhouse and the success of Saw X.
The new Saw marks the return of James Wan as producer. After the success of Saw X in 2023, the saga faced major backstage problems around Saw 11, whose release date was cancelled. The Blumhouse studio, newly merged with Atomic Monster, has bought the series rights.
The film will be directed by Mike P. Nelson, known for his editing work on the first five Saw and for directing Saw VI, Saw 3D and Saw X. The producers present him as a fresh start, preferring an emerging talent to an established star.
To put this comeback in perspective, the saga already has 11 films, behind 13 Halloween, 11 Hellraiser, 9 Friday the 13th and 8 Chucky.
