Johnny Hallyday biopic moved up to June 30 2027
Cédric Jimenez's Johnny biopic will now open on June 30 2027, a few months earlier than planned.
According to Écran Large, the biopic Johnny, directed and co-written by Cédric Jimenez (Bac Nord, Chien 51), was originally slated for June 8 2027. Filming began on June 1 and, after Raphaël Quenard was replaced by Benjamin Voisin - nominated for the César for Best Actor in 2026 - Studiocanal moved the release up to June 30 2027.
The film will trace the singer's early years in the 1960s, his relationship with Sylvie Vartan, then the 1970s and the Johnny Circus tour, up to his 1993 concert at the Parc des Princes. According to Écran Large, Johnny will arrive on the same day as Shrek 5, a week before the sequel to Superman, Man Of Tomorrow and a week after Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse, with no direct competition.
