According to Screen Wide, director Jeremy Saulnier returns with the horror thriller Slayground, whose first teaser promises a true nightmare. Built on his austere style, raw realism and sudden violence shown in Blue Ruin and especially the claustrophobic Green Room, he has established himself as a striking figure in American independent cinema.
After two films made for Netflix - Aucun homme ni Dieu and Rebel Ridge - an experience that was reportedly complicated, he returns to A24 for Slayground (formerly October). The plot will follow a fugitive on the run during the Halloween period, and the ultra-sadistic teaser hints at an imminent release. A24 even launched the site RunLikeHell.com, where surveillance-camera footage from a horror escape-game loops with a countdown that will end on Tuesday 20.
