Charlie Brooker launches the police thriller series Blackmere on Netflix
The new series Blackmere, by Charlie Brooker, arrives on Netflix late 2027 starring Paddy Considine.
Charlie Brooker, creator of Black Mirror, returns to Netflix with an all new series. Produced directly by the platform, Blackmere will be released late 2027. The platform describes it as "an absurd comedy disguised as an incredibly serious police thriller".
The plot follows Inspector John Blackmere, who leaves the rainy town of Bleakford for the London maze, to avenge a colleague's death and stop a serial killer with ritual crimes. The lead role is played by Paddy Considine, recently known for House of the Dragon. The cast also includes Rory Kinnear, Georgina Campbell and Lena Headey, famous for Game of Thrones.
After delivering several seasons of Black Mirror and exploring comedy with Philomena Cunk, Brooker returns with a blend of darkness and grim British humour, promising a condensed dose of his characteristic style.
