Avengers: Endgame Encore opens with $3.8 M in advance screenings
The re-release of Avengers: Endgame Encore grosses $3.8 M in advance sales, while Primetime opens at $2.7 M.
Sony sees its Resident Evil, last week's box-office champion with $61 M, facing new rivals. The film is trying to hold the top spot for a second week. At the same time, Marvel is rolling out Avengers: Endgame Encore, Paramount is offering the survival thriller Heart of the Beast, A24 is banking on Primetime, and Universal/DreamWorks Animation is releasing the animated Forgotten Island.
In advance screenings, Avengers: Endgame Encore earned $3.8 M, putting it on a trajectory of $25 M to $28 M for the weekend. Resident Evil is targeting $24 M to $26 M for its second run, after its initial $61 M. Primetime starring Robert Pattinson opens at $2.7 M in pre-sales. The weekend looks tight between these titles.
