Since the late 1960s, Nicole Garcia has carved a singular place in French cinema. A promising actress, she worked with Bertrand Tavernier, Jacques Rivette, Claude Sautet and Alain Resnais, notably alongside Gérard Depardieu in My American Uncle by Resnais. In the early 1990s, she moved behind the camera and built a three-decade filmography marked by dark dramas (The Adversary), romantic thrillers (A View of Love, Lovers) and crime investigations (Place Vendôme, The Favorite Son).
