Born in Omsk to a Russified Tatar father and a mother named Anastasia, Valentina Talyzina moved to Baranavichy as an infant before pursuing higher education at the Omsk Agricultural Institute (1952-54) and later graduating from the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts in 1958, after which she joined the Mossovet Theatre troupe.
