Born in Palo Alto and raised in Grass Valley, he pursued bodybuilding in his teens and early twenties while attending Sacramento State University before shifting to acting in the early 1980s. A breakout role came as cadet Dante Pignetti in The Lords of Discipline, after which he appeared alongside Bill Paxton and Michael Biehn in The Terminator and later in the military action picture Navy SEALs.…
