Raised on Long Beach Island, New Jersey, Birdsong left home at 18, worked various jobs including serving ice cream at the Surflight Theatre where she first tried improv, and earned a BFA in acting from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. She debuted on screen with the 1996 TV film Live On Tape and later became known as Deputy Cherisha Kimball on Reno 911! and its spin-off movies.
