Born in Puławy as the second son of a forester and former infantry officer who perished in the Warsaw Uprising, Marian Opania entered the Polish performing-arts scene through stage work in the mid-1960s. He debuted at Warsaw’s Classic Theater, later joining the Studio Theater, Kwadrat, and Komedia before settling at the Ateneum Theatre in 1981, where he has remained a fixture.
