Raised in Philadelphia, Kane completed high school at Myrtle Beach in 1994, earned a degree from Coastal Carolina University in 1998 and studied at the William Esper Studio. He entered film with a small role in Swimming (2000) and later appeared on Law & Order, One Life to Live and Law & Order: SVU, while co-founding the stage collective The Collective NY.
