Hailing from Santa Fe and raised in New York City, he attended the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts before enrolling at Bard College, which he left in 1997 to pursue acting. His screen debut arrived in the independent drama Arresting Gena, followed by roles in Drive Me Crazy (1999) and James Toback's Harvard Man (2001).
