Né à Kansas City (Missouri) et formé d’abord à la Juilliard School avant d’obtenir un BFA à la North Carolina School of the Arts puis une maîtrise en théâtre à Purdue, il a également étudié à la Rose Bruford College et au William Esper Studios.
