Originario de Teaneck, Nueva Jersey, Ridgely comenzó su trayectoria artística como animador de cabaret antes de pasar a la actuación. Tras ejercer como presentador de talk-show junto a Woody Woodbury, apareció en comerciales, entre ellos uno icónico de McDonald’s con estilo de número de Broadway.
